Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Here’s my top five films for V-day, a selection that’s perfect to watch either with that special someone (and throw in some special cuddle time) or on your own (cue a relaxing night in with pizza and ice cream – win!)
- Notting Hill
If you love cheesy romances and Julia Roberts’ ‘charming’ laugh then this psuedo British-American love story is one for you. Plus, the 80s/90s British dreamboat, Hugh Grant stars. You know you can’t go wrong with a classic Hugh Grant rom-com.
2. The Proposal
Marrying an American citizen to avoid getting deported is a sure-fire way to find love, right? The comedic team of Ryan Reynolds and Sandra Bullock show that love comes when you least expect, especially with Betty White around to help speed things along.
3. The Vow
The ultimate romantic drama team of Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams star in this Nicholas Sparks-esque movie about a devoted husband’s attempts at winning back his wife after she loses her memories of their relationship due to an accident. This one will tug at your heart.
4. He’s Just Not That Into You
Alright ladies, this one’s for you. Just a stereotypical reminder of what not to do when playing the dating game.
A must watch this Valentine’s Day is this incredible, heartfelt tale of the lengths a man will go to for the woman he loves. Throw in some wicked humour, bad-assery and superheroes and you’ve got a winner. Even the swoon worthy Ryan Reynolds recommends it in this IGN video.
